Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company Joins the Arbor Day Foundation’s Time for Trees™

Algona, Iowa, September 1, 2020 – Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company joins the Arbor Day Foundation in their Time for Trees initiative. For every policy that goes paperless from September 1, 2020 through August 31, 2021, Pharmacists Mutual will donate $1.00 to the Arbor Day Foundation. In turn, each paperless policy will equal planting one tree. By going paperless, members also help save trees needed to make paper and reduce the amount of fossil fuel used to create and deliver the paper.

The Arbor Day Foundation’s goal is to plant 100 million trees and inspire 5 million tree planters by 2022, the 150th anniversary of Arbor Day. Planting trees helps communities recover from natural disasters such as hurricanes and tornadoes and replaces trees lost to wildfires in forests across the country. They restore critical rainforest lands devastated by unsustainable forestry and agriculture practices. Trees ensure life essentials such as clean air, clean water, and a tolerable climate.

The Time for Trees initiative has gained awareness and momentum in both the corporate sustainability world and the general public. The impact so far is impressive. As of January 1, 2020, more than 66 million trees have been planted. Consider the impact of 66 million additional trees. These trees will sequester enough carbon to equal taking more than 4.1 million cars off the road for an entire year. They will intercept and filter enough water to fill every person’s water bottle on Earth every day for nearly four years. Additionally, they will provide an estimated $500 million in human health benefits.

While planting 66 million trees is by itself an accomplishment, the initiative has also inspired more than 3.8 million tree planters. These people are making a difference every day right where they live by picking up shovels and ensuring the impact of the Time for Trees initiative reaches far beyond its 100 million tree goal.

3. Select which policies you would like to go paperless or select all policies
4. Agree to the Terms and click Save

Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company agrees to pay the Arbor Day Foundation $1.00 per policy that goes paperless between September 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021.
